"The Original Boston Run" was researched and written by C. David " Dave" Engle, grandson of longtime Mahanoy City High School and Mahanoy Area High School teacher, administrator and historian, Charles Engle.
Boston Run is located about two miles west of Mahanoy City. Many years before now, another Boston Run was located across the Reading Railroad tracks and the Mahanoy Creek at the base of the Broad Mountain. It is this patch of a by-gone era that Dave has researched and written about.
Congratulations to Dave on the fine job he has done on "The Original Boston Run"and thanks from the Mahanoy Area Historical Society for allowing us to place it as a page on our website.
